Polytechnic College
With an area of about 8, 64869 acres (35.000 m²) on a 2, 96526 acres (12.000 m²) plot, we decided to use up to 80% occupancy on ground level, adjusting the building complex to the perimeter in order to resolve the program in as few levels as possible. The resulting architecture of courtyards follows a proven and long established tradition in climates where sun protection is needed.
All teaching spaces, laboratories, library, etc. have a north orientation; therefore, only occasionally the additional sun protections are needed. The organization of the building complex optimizes the harmony with the bioclimatic environment, with appropriate orientations, courtyards and cross ventilations.
